Good sturdy case that stands up to abuse.
Nice case. Very sturdy. I used it to store and transport an expensive telescope.Pelican cases are the Cadillac of storage cases and can stand up to airline abuse. I'm an airline pilot and I see them in use all the time being loaded into the cargo bay when I'm inspecting the aircraft. These are the choice of professionals who have high-dollar equipment that they don't want destroyed. The pick-n-pluck foam works fine, but some people choose to pluck a bit more than needed and then add some custom-cut foam from a roll of foam attached with some 3M Super77 spray adhesive - or other equivalent type of adhesive, as some of the pick-n-pluck that you do NOT want to be removed may eventually be inadvertently "plucked".The handle, wheels and latches are beefy - and it is waterproof.

Simply the best
This case holds my schmidt-cassegrain telescope and plossl lenses when I travel to more open areas for astronomical viewing. I needed a solid case that would not only protect my items from obvious damage like water, and blunt force, but also from internal shifting when in motion. Because the mirrors in the telescope have to stay perfectly aligned, I needed a case that would hold the tube head still over bumps and everything else. I used the case the first day I got it and couldn't be more happy. Absolutely nothing moved around one bit. I even lived life on the edge and put the whole case upside down and tussled it around a bit and still nothing shifted. I haven't gone as far as submerging it, but the case is completely worth it. It was also the only case in its class that would fit my telescope. Good work Pelican. I will be using this manufacturer again and likely replacing the foam annually to maintain integrity.

A really solid solution!
This case was sold as a camera shipping case, but there are quite a few more things that it can be used for. I am using it for a folding Mobility scooter. I was worried that the airline's baggage department would damage my scooter so I plan to put the scooter in this case. It's really solid and provides ample protection. The wheels are on one side which means it is used like a hand truck. I would have proferred if the wheels were set up like "spinner luggage" which would make it easier to move it around. Although, I guess it could get away from you that way. Well, overall it's a great product and Amazon delivered it without a glitch.

Best case for transporting fragile cosplay armor
I bought this case to transport my cosplay armor to conventions. I have to pay an oversized baggage fee to get this thing on an airplane, but it’s been totally worth it considering my armor has never been broken or damaged. The padding inside is superb and can be tailored to whatever shape you want given the cubed foam cut, and the walls of the case itself are tough and thick and won’t buckle under stress. The wheels are wide and tough and can take a beating as well, which I’ve often found to be the Achilles heal in other brands of luggage and similar cases. Overall, very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone.

Solid; Make sure you research the cost of flying with this BEFORE buying!
I think I could fit my car inside of this. Well, not really... but do be aware that, in my research, this case exceeds the normal size constraints of airlines, and so you have to pay an oversize fee each time you fly with it. For example, it would have cost me $75 each way to fly with this in additional baggage fees. Perhaps that has or will change, or depends on the airline. But I'd suggest researching that before buying this so that you're fully aware of what you're getting in to!As far as the actual product, the thing feels very solid and well constructed. It's quite heavy and bulky but that's kind of obvious.

Expensive, But Worth It
I've been shipping a sensitive tech demo unit around North America for the past 5 months using this case, as checked baggage, on FedEx air, and by FedEx ground. I watched it fall off of a baggage conveyor up by the airplane cargo door (thank you Delta!), and escape out of the back of an overpacked hotel van. There has been no damage to my demo unit or to the case itself. The foam is relatively easy to tear into the right shapes the first time. Just be sure to visualize well, measure twice, and cut once. You can use a little hot glue to put a piece back in place if you tear too much away. I've recommended this case to 2 work colleagues and they both like theirs.

Solution in a box
Great all around purchase. Heavy duty, waterproof, wheels, heavy duty latches multiple handles, holes for padlocks and just the right amount of space for my needs.

Big, Sturdy Case
Although the packing box was damaged (as forewarned), the case was in good shape and had all of the expected features for ruggedness of a Pelican case. I wanted something with the room for cushioning of the instrument that will go inside, but was still a bit overwhelmed by the size and especially the weight of this case (41 lbs). Combine the weight of the case and the 45-50 lbs of the instrument that will go inside and it becomes almost too much to load into my vehicle and cost prohibitive to ship on an airplane.
