PROS- Our bed needed some extra cushion, so I found this. It made a big difference. Very comfortable. Nice and thick and heavy. Stays in place.THE CONS- Oh those feathers...They poke through the fabric like tiny little needles! To combat this, we've put a thick fleece blanket on top, then put the fitted sheet on to of that, essentially putting a layer between our skin and the poking feathers.But do be warned, the feathers come out and get everywhere! They get stuck in the blanket that we use as the barrier, so use a blanket that you don't have another use for...unless you want to pick out the feathers.

Lavish Home Down & Duck Feather 4 Inch Gusset Topper - Queen  This is definitely such a great value! I was just about to buy the Pacific Coast feather bed until I saw this! I have previously owned several Pacific Coast feather beds and other brand feather mattresses! This feather bed is just as nice for a lot less! I saw many reviews where people were saying that the mattress goes flat and laughed my butt off! Of course it goes flat! Do you think it will permanently stay 4 inches thick? Because there are foam mattresses that can't even do that! For anyone that doesn't know, you will need to fluff your feather mattress before you hop into bed. I actually put a duvet cover on my feather mattresses and just lightly fluff it before getting into bed. It only takes about 5 seconds. The mattress does flatten when I get onto it, but I can still feel the comfort and padding underneath me. It feels like sleeping on a luxurious cloud. I've been meaning to get a feather mattress for months and my fiancé thought I was insane to want to spend that kind of money. I have rheumatoid arthritis and I told him that since he had never slept on a feather mattress he had no idea what he was talking about. Now, he agrees that the comfort of the feather mattress is well worth the money. He had previously purchased mattress toppers and says that none of them were even half as good as this feather mattress. This feather mattress is actually much better than most feather mattresses because as of yet, I have not had any feathers poke me. I read many reviews where people were complaining about the feathers and I laughed my butt off! I have had very expensive feather mattresses and have never had feathers not come out! In fact, this is the cheapest feather mattress I have ever bought and it is just as comfortable as others! I have only had it a week, but no feathers have come out so far. This is definitely worth the buy!

I took this out of the bag and immediately smelled a horrible smell. Tried to just brush it off and put it in my bed anyway and put my sheets over it. A few days went by and I just couldn’t get over the smell. It filled my entire room and I just couldn’t. So I put it in my washer. And you’re not supposed to use much detergent so I didn’t. When my load was finished I opened the washer and it smelled even worse and not even there was brown spots from the feathers in the topper and some of it sunk through and it just looks gross. I’m not sure if they washed the feathers throughly. And before I opened the washer I saw a lovely amount of feathers and a bunch fell out when I opened it. Don’t buy this unless you’re okay with not washing it and dealing with the horrible smell.

Overall, this down mattress topper is pretty good, but a few things that could be a little improved upon. First the good, I really like that it is real down and feather fill, and a nice breathable cotton shell. It did not feel hot when sleeping the first night, so off to a good start there as well. I also like the box paneling to keep all the filling from piling up at one end. It does add a plush layer to our firm bed which is what we were looking for. It does seem to slightly over hang out kind size bed, might just be a natural consequence of being flattened down and widening. Also, I would prefer it have a fitted skirt to tuck and hold in place around the mattress; our old one had one and it stayed in place very well. I’ve only slept on this one night so far and it hasn’t shifted yet, so perhaps that’s just more of a personal preference of mine, and not really a necessity. Overall, I think the price was reasonable, it came vacuum sealed and packaged decently, the quality seems excellent (the tag matched all the listing info regarding brand name, down and feather fill, and all Cotton shell), so I would recommend this topper.

I had recently bought a new mattress and I felt it was a bit too firm. I ordered this topper and oh my..it’s so soft and fluffy. I do have to refluff it about once a week but that’s to be expected due to the feathers. I love it I feel the price was extremely fair.

The topper is comfortable first couple of nights. Then the feathers started poking through and sticking you while sleep. Topper feels and sounds like paper is inside when you rub hand across the squares when your press on it.

We are elderly so achy joints and backs are chronic. This helps immensely. This feather topper reminds me of the feather 'ticks' my grandmother used to make innerspring mattresses more comfy. Has to be fluffed daily for maximum comfort, but works to some extent without fluffing.See reviews complaining about feather fill. Topper is filled with about 16 lbs of feathers - not down. Feathers offer more support, but are not as cushy as down. This item works because of the extra support feathers provide. It's why my grandma used feathers in her 'ticks'. Bought the cover for this item and have had no problems with getting poked by feathers.Have not had problem with getting too warm. Do use an extra fitted sheet to absorb any sweat generated during night to be sure the feathers stay dry.Cleaning: This item weighs 18 lbs & has to be dry cleaned.

Very disappointed with this, I've had it for less than a week and the duck feathers constantly poke through the bed sheets as I'm sleeping (very uncomfortable).

It's like sleeping on a cloud. I've read how people strip their bed to fluff up/reposition it daily, but I just stick my hands under the fitted sheet to give it a good shake on either side of bed; easy to reposition this way, as well. Regardless of the need to refluff, it's definitely worth it. Bonus: the old mattress was hot on my back with my menopausal night sweats. This fluff is feathers/down & encased in cotton, so I 'flash' alot less now!!
