Great gloves, but be aware that they certainly need breaking in
When I first got these gloves, I was quite worried because they are TIGHT and very uncomfortable. I mean, even getting your wrapped hands in them was very difficult. You couldn't do 2 rounds on the heavy bag without wishing you could finally take them off. Very tight, very uncomfortable. But don't despair. They take a few weeks and some patience and eventually they break in nicely. I've had them for some months now and they are great. They're comfortable, they hit hard with a nice pop on the heavy bag and they're very nicely made, great quality. I train 4 days a week and have them on for more than an hour at a time and have no problems whatsoever. Cleto Reyes definitely know how to make boxing gloves.

Hmmm interesting
Ive been boxing(casually) for over a decade, never fought in the amateurs because i run a business and dont have the time to dedicate to it. But i do fight once a year in cheesy 'toughman' style boxing matches. Ive owned various brands of boxing gloves over the years from Title, Everlast, offbrand, etc. These are the tightest and most compact 16oz boxing gloves ive ever owned. They weren't kidding when they said these were 'puncher' gloves. Its a struggle to get my hands into them and im not a big guy(5'7 142 pounds). These are so compact that they make me feel like a pro fighter. They feel and look like 14 oz gloves, its crazy, and it feels crazy good on my ego because im able to punch harder and faster with these than any other 16 oz gloves ive ever owned. Its like ive been driving a truck all my life and suddenly switched to a super car like a Ferrari. Slick gloves, love'em, hope they hold up over the years like all the rumors says.Cons- The thumb on these gloves is very short, my thumb usually smashed on the end and it does get uncomfortable. Although i do have unnaturally large and lanky hands/fingers for being 5 foot 7 inches. I suppose Mexicans have stubby fingers or something. Also the thumb connector that keeps the thumb in place is kinda loose and your thumb will wiggle around more than other gloves. I even missed a punch on the heavybag and caught the thumb and that really hurt. I prefer my thumb sown on seamlessly onto the entire glove and not just a little half an inch leather piece holding it in place. Thats the only real 'con' i have for this glove, the thumb could be a whole lot better.

There's a reason why they are the best in the business!
Trying to decide on a pair of gloves can be stressful as it is so I hope this review helps someone out there decide or narrow down their options!Right off the bat, the leather smell hits you when opening the package and the style of the glove is very attractive.Trying on the glove, they are very snug for 14oz (possibly more snug than my other 12oz gloves) and I will mention I have a small-moderate hands so no complaints here, definitely something to keep in mind when picking out the size.As mentioned, a tight fit but very secure nonetheless. Sufficient wrist support and compact padding which means great feedback when landing punches. These will be my go-to training gloves for padwork, bag work, and possibly occasional sparring but these are known as puncher's gloves and I definitely understand what they mean by that.Get a separate pair of gloves strictly used for sparring in order to protect your fellow boxing partners.I would rate these 9/10 and with the free 2 day shipping from Amazon, $200 is worth the investment!

Solid glove with a nice pop when you hit the bag.
This is a solid glove for anyone who has been boxing for a couple of years and wants to invest in the longer term.I’ve worn Title, Ringside, Everlast and Venom and these are definitely my favorite.I’ll say this: if you’re looking for budget-friendly, Title can offer some great gloves for $50-60.If you’ve been doing it for a few years and want to invest more, Reyes is a great way to go.They are very snug. I got the 12oz because I wanted something tight for bagwork. Compared to my 14oz gloves, (those are softer and I use them for sparring. They are Title Matrix) these feel ultra-light, even though I’ve heard of folks saying they run over weight. It’s possible the weight distribution is making it feel lighter. My hands feel great even after multiple rounds. But be aware that these aren’t considered soft gloves. They are pretty solid and absorb impact differently from my more “pillowy” gloves. But I really like the feel.I used to think there was no reason to pay more than 60 bucks for gloves. But, more likely than not, Cleto Reyes will be my glove of choice moving forward.
