I like my coffee black like my...
I like my coffee black, like my.... Johnny Walker. Both among the best and most consistent of blends.I've shopped around many brands including the best seller on Amazon. Some are good and it's possible for the saving you'll be able to put up with them, but for a true rich and smooth coffee (an institution in Italy) it has to be Illy. For morning coffee I use a KINGrinder, 16grams, and drip filter into a 300ml cup. As a drip can be quick you should grind very fine.(I observe that the rating is affected by some people awarding 1 star because their tins arrived dented.)

Bought for my Partner
Bought this to try in our new Sage machine as he loves stronger coffee and his exact words were “best coffee beans he’s ever had” (not counting freshly made ones) and he enjoys buying them regularly now. Excellent taste and flavours. Definitely worth the price for the quality of the coffee. I definitely feel like they are even fresher than usual bags of coffee beans as they’re in a tin with a full can seal on them (like tins have) and this makes them way more durable during delivery if we can’t get them whilst we are out shopping.

Very good coffee beans
I’m not a connoisseur of coffee. We all have individual tastes. I find these descriptions of chocolate, berries of some sort, spices or whatever rather silly. That said this is a good full bodied coffee excellent as Americano for me. I would have liked a little less roasting ie inbetween this and their standard version as for me there is a minor after taste but not so much that I would not keep using these beans. Are they worth the extra price. Just about so I’ll keep buying above other so called “ award” winning beans which I e wasted buying as they are too weak. Btw I like my coffee stronger.

This is a lovely flavour without it being too strong
I'm not a strong coffee drinker. I started with a French Press and originally started using the iLLy Classico Medium Roast. That was nice. But I decided to try the Intenso Dark Roast, and it's much better. I feel like I'm drinking coffee without it being overpowering or feeling overly strong. Just a good lovely rich flavour. I've been trying to ween myself off milk in coffee (I've always been a latte/flat white drinker in the cafe's) and i found the Medium Roast just wasn't flavoured enough. The Dark Roast as black coffee hit's the spot and I don't miss the milk, although interestingly they say this actually makes a good coffee with milk.

Beautiful Coffee. Just like a kerbside European cafe
We've been buying San Fransisco Bay French Roast coffee for a while now and we found it caused our bean-to-cup machine to keep getting stuck and not taking the beans correctly. So I decided to push the boat out and buy this really expensive Illy stuff. Well - all I can say is it's a game changer. The beans aren't oily, they don't taste burnt or bitter and they just flow through our machine like a dream. I am going to have to be careful now though because I'm drinking far more coffee than I used to simply because it tastes so good. It probably works out 4 times more expensive for the Illy than the SanFran Bay but the difference is unbelievable. I also bought some Lavazza beans in the same order, so they're in the machine next and I'll see how they compare. Lavazza are twice the cost of the SanFran but half the price of the Illy so that will be my next review in a week or so.I was really doubtful about how much better coffee could taste if you spent a little more - boy am I glad I tried. I'll probably only reserve the Illy for special occasions and try to find a happy medium, but at least I know not all coffees taste the same and you get what you pay for.

No lid
Lovely coffee, but my last three tins have been delivered without lids which makes keeping the coffee fresh a bit of a problem!

Best coffee beans: illy
A bit expensive but worthed. Creamy, tasty, not bitter, for any type of coffee. Black or white, without sugar perfect smoothness. One must try to see the difference.
