I would give this a 9.5/10. It is an almost perfect sunscreen. I normally burn SO easily, I have fair skin. I applied this one time during a kayaking day trip, not a cloud in the sky, and was out there for hours. I did not burn where I applied it. The photo is to show where I missed applying it.Right now my partner is lying in bed with nearly 3rd degree burns lookin like a lobster because he didn’t use this sunscreen on the same trip, and I have a beautiful soft tan, no burn right now on the rest of my body.This sunscreen wasn’t greasy at all. It’s all mineral and felt good to apply. No color transfer, no bleeding of color on plastic bags and clothes.I’ve given it -0.5 for 2 reasons, I wouldn’t use it everyday as it did put temporary sunscreen streaks on my polyester dry-wicking shorts the other day (none the kayak day though) and reason 2 is it leaves a white cast on the face only, so I wouldn’t use it on the face. HOWEVER, worth noting I normally have bad acne and this product did not make me break me out at all.

A little over a year ago, I was diagnosed with a melanoma and thus began my search for the best sunscreens. Blue Lizard stands out as my top favorite to use on the body for days spent in the sun. It offers good protection, is reef safe and has less chemicals than other brands. The only downside to this sunscreen is it leaves a white sheen and will show if you get it on your clothes. However, I have never burned while wearing it. The cap is also a plus, it changes color when exposed to UV. The darker the cap, the higher the UV. The cap alone has convinced my husband to apply when he originally thought he didn't need it. Overall, great product that I return to again and again.

I am so psyched about this sunscreen! I had been looking for a non-toxic, effective sunscreen that doesn't sting my eyes, leave a white cast or pill. This one is rated a 3 by EWG, which is still higher than I'd like, but way better than most of the alternatives that are out there. It looks like the EWG's biggest concern on it was allergies/immunotoxicity, but I've been using it for 2 days now and I haven't had any allergy issues.I am also happy to report that my eyes don't hurt at all (and I'm not avoiding my eye area--I put it right on my eyelids and under my eyes). It applies whiteish but the white cast goes away very quickly, and IT DOES NOT PILL!!!! Even though I put my Honest Hydrogel Cream on right before it! This and the Andalou Naturals tinted sunscreen are the only decently-rated (on EWG) sunscreens I've tried that do not pill!! (I'm not sure how effective the Andalou Naturals one is as a sunscreen, though, which is why I was looking for something new). Highly recommend!

The only negative with this item is the fact that it is not easy to apply. It leaves a white layer on your skin unless you rub it in for a while. It has a lighter viscosity than the brand I used in the past so I need to adjust the amount I apply. It is approved by the dermatologist in the family and is supposed to be better for the environment than the regular sunscreens.

I have tried a million sunscreens for my kids. Especially my daughter who has crazy sensitive skin, always has reactions to everything and nothing ever works. We got this for our trip to FL and I’ll never go back to something else. She was hoping to maybe get some color on our trip?! Nope!! She didn’t get burnt at all. No reactions. No itchiness. It was great! Use both the lotion, spray, and stick and love them all. Life time users now

I give 5 stars never until today. This lotion dries clear when you rub it in well. It feels like there’s a barrier on your skin between water like a duck’s back. I did not burn. At all. Spray formulas have never worked for me, this has. Some people complain about the white residue that it will leave on your skin if it’s dry, but better than a burn I say.

Does not contain chemicals which get absorbed through your skin into your bloodstream and can cause endocrine system damage. Uses good old safe zinc oxide or titanium oxide, as only mineral-based sunscreens are actually safe for prolonged use.Threw away five other bottles of sunscreen because of the chemicals.

This sunscreen works great on my skin as it doesn’t irritate it and leaves me very protected from the sun. My only complaint is that when I put it on, it immediately makes my skin look red like I have already been sunburnt. Maybe it’s just the tint of my skin, but as soon as I take it off, back to looking tan. Everyone stops me all concerned that I may have the worst sunburn ever when I am wearing it when I don’t. Luckily it’s only temporary and actually doing its job to protect me from the actual sunburn.
