Great performance for the price!
I bought this pocket radio with minimal expectations - I wanted it for local talk & sports stations, no DX or high fidelity sound required. The speaker sound quality is surprisingly good - no bass of course, but clear and clean otherwise. The audio over headphones is also good. It's about as simple and functional as it gets - tuner and volume wheels, AM/FM/OFF slide switch, and audio jack. A tuning light comes on to indicate station lock, and the turning works well. It's a little more finicky on AM than FM but once locked in it's fine. The extendable antenna seems sturdy but is not really needed for the local stations. I have not done any extensive testing with weaker stations.Build quality is acceptable, though I wouldn't want to drop it. It's very lightweight. I appreciate that the battery cover is "captured" so that it would be harder to lose than one that completely pops off.I'm very satisfied with it. I rate it at five stars because given the cost, and what it provides, I couldn't ask for more.

Great for travel.
I purchased this radio specifically to cross listening to Cuban propaganda on actual Cuban AM radio stations located inside Cuba off my bucket list. Well... Let's just say I'm impressed because I picked up Cuba, America, and Turks and Caicos while I was deep inside Bahamas. The sound is adequate, the 3.5mm jack for private listening is a major plus, reception of radio signals while out in the middle of the ocean is fantastic....particularly AM broadcasts at night. The controls are basic switches, pots, and variable caps for ease of use and the volume control has a wide range. I cannot verify clarity since I was knowingly and willingly picking up radio stations well over 100 miles away. One does not need to raise the telescoping antenna to receive local FM channels or distant AM broadcasts after dark. I'm not sure how it works while in mountainous conditions or in temperature inversions, though I do live in the mountains and will test it some time for that. I'm not able to comment on durability since I only bought this unit to be disposable. The only flaw is that my tuning needle (that orange bit) which shows where I am on the radio frequency is a wee bit crooked. But, that's not a turn off for someone who bought this to be both cheap and disposable.

Very, very good radio
Interesting radio. This one not only has a 'strong signal' green light, it's red light goes out if your batteries get too week. A little taller than most transistor radios. But! For AM listeners its selectivity is the best. It's sensitivity is quite good also. Very good sound. Choice of colors. Nice controls, the AM/FM/Off switch operates smoothly rather than over hard like a lot of them, making switching between bands nice.

Quality & performance is good!
Excellent price & performs well. This is my second one. I have one I use in pool & another for everything else (gardening, exercising, etc). Can’t go wrong with this one. Buttons are easy to use & still sounds good with ear phones.

Handy for news and music when the power is out and great to take along fishing or going on a picnic.
As described. Needed something for when the power runs out and when we are outside with no electricity on patio. This is perfect. So convenient and easy to operate, does not take up a lot of space and provides good quality sounds. Perfect for our needs.

The sound quality rivals more expensive competitors
Very good sound quality. This one punches way above its price point! The green LED which shows that the frequency is tuned in was an unexpected feature. Very good radio.

Good radio… not so good with battery life
These were good, but they go through batteries like crazy or they’re small size. The radio functions very well and it does have a very large antenna although I have really not had to put it all the way up to get reception. Tuning is pretty easy, but sometimes can be hard to tell where you’re at because everything is kind of smashed together in the display. It does have a very clear, audio output. Is very portable and lightweight. Relatively durable also as I’ve dropped it or knocked it down several times. But overall, I would give this a three out of five stars due to it battery life even with the best batteries on the market really doesn’t last. Occasionally just randomly stops getting reception and have to turn it off and back on again and it works. Personally, I would not purchase this product again, but for the price if you have a ton of batteries, this isn’t a bad product.
